SPLIT PEAK

This piece depicts a wave breaking in both directions, which is 'split peak' in surf lingo. The wave is framed by two palms with a sandy foreground (Ali'i Beach Park). Contrasting textures and carefully carved palm fronts were the main areas of focus when creating the work.
